Yeah, I could not even imagine what acceleration like that must feel like.

While I certainly appreciate how fast they are...and the potential to be WAYYY faster, I had the opportunity to drive on older one (2009) a few years ago. What a letdown. Drove and shifted like a turd, noisy, clunky. Big disappointment, which was good, because the urge to buy one went away immediately...

R35's never did anything for me. R32, R33, R34 GT-R's on the other hand, I think are fantastic, but for the prices people are asking to get one here in 'Merica, I feel much happier knowing you can own an RS6 for less. My friend paid $26k for an '89 R32. I paid $24k for a 2003 RS6... do the math. If I ever move to Japan, though, I'm getting a white R32 GT-R and boosting it over 600whp.

Not to worry. I just made some calls to pick it up and ran around town.

I would say as advertised and fun to drive. Just not for me.

Wish it was easy to get our RS6s to those things power levels. Been in several 1200hp versions and they are just painfully quick.

One thing our RS6s have over them is they are a lot more exclusive. While I dont see a whole lot of GTRs I do see them. Still have yet to see an RS6 on the road.

    Including your own...

Sorry, Bill. Couldn't resist At least you've got good news from AoA regarding your beast.

On-topic - Katie's Cars and Coffee is a weekly meetup at (imagine this) Katie's Coffee Stand in Great Falls, VA. About 2 months after I got my beast, I managed to get FOUR (4) RS6's to the meetup, and we snagged some of the best / most central spots in the show and shine area. Not bad, managing to have 1 of every 200 or so RS6's brought to the US show up!

A couple months earlier, there was a Gojira club takeover. Imagine a parking lot, one driving lane in the middle, 40-ish spots lining either side. Now imagine every single one of those spots with a GTR in it, and more overflowing to the side lots. They started arriving ~315am and didn't stop until the meet was pretty well over (10am or so). It was a thing to behold.

I know such a meet would be a lot to ask of the RS6 owners out there, but I bet the Denver and/or Portland areas could manage something of that scale - we just don't have the density of ownership around here.

I don't know what my point is here. Just reliving some good times, and being more-or-less on-topic...ish? And busting LaserSVT's balls, gotta do that to the newbs. Bill, 151 posts already and you just joined this month. Good god man, you are addicted!

Or as the blokes on "Top Gear" would say, "It's a Datsun!"

We should try to get a whole bunch of RS6's together at the next big east coast Euro meet... other than H2O...
