    What channels should I log?

Want to collect data for some logs in the morning but not 100% on which channels are needed to best diagnose a problem. Lately seems low on power and not the freight train I know it can be...

Quick search says 3,31,115 in Turbo Mode. 2nd gear @2500 rpm to redline.

I did a quick log today of channel 3 but block 2 (single block w/ combined MAF readings) never even saw 300 g/s... I know that's not right given 450bhp x .80

Any other channels you guys recommend? or suggestions?

Like you said, 3,31,115 in turbo mode. Please post the results.

3rd gear, 2,500 RPM to redline. 2nd gear spins out too quick. Blocks 3, 31, and 115 will give you timing and boost, should be a good indicator of your issues. Activate turbo mode before logging, gives a much more detailed graph. Once you get your log cleaned up in Excel, export as webpage, then open webpage in a browser and copy numbers with cursor, then paste into reply on here, it can be tricky.

    3rd gear is better

Log before you are too heat soaked....then perform a sneaky reset.....go out and log one more.

Car off...turn key on, gas pedal to floor, 5 sec, key off, then gas pedal release. Wait 7 minutes

    Go out and log again

Remember these cars are pigs in the heat...esp if your stock.

Sneaky reset? I didn't see that one in the Bentley manual. Could you elaborate, as far as what it resets and why choose that over clearing the ecu memory w VCDS...

If you already logged and didn't see over 300 g/s, check for leaks before you log again. Likely your MAFS are leaking between the MAFs and intake. Push down on your airbox and make sure it is fully seated. I've eliminated this problem by removing my MAFs from the airbox, and let them sit in the intake. So IF they leak, they leak before the MAF. They MAY suck unfiltered air, but not enough to matter and I hadn't had a MAF CEL in 2 years. Sure it's a hack fix, but it should have been designed in...good luck on your fix...

Exactly! What the hell were they thinking (or not thinking in this case...).
    '02 S6 Avant Silver - Pokey | Carbon Black/Ebony RS6 w/ stuff - darn quick | '03 Daytona Grey/Ebony RS6 w/ more stuff - quicker yet | '91 NSX CDN issue with 6spd & BBSC - quicker yet and then some | '87 Buick GNX OEM clone w/ lots of stuff - quickest hands down

The airbox connection was one of the first things I checked, it was all good but I went ahead and installed the Apikol Maf Rings right after I bought the car just as insurance. Possibility the Mafs are on their way out... They are Genuine Audi pieces I believe.

The OTHER benefit to the "MAF mod", is that you minimize your engagement of the MAF connectors and the associated wiring, which is brittle and tend to break. Make sure to check that wiring at the connectors and within 3-4in of the connectors. Even with the Apikol rings, they can and will leak. That's why they are not worth $50. Just my opinion... as this is what worked for me. Again, no CEL's for over 2 years, which is unheard of for an Audi, much less a RS6...

Kinda wish the cel was on so I would have more of a clue.

I did capture the logs yesterday but getting them to fit the 30k character limit is a challenge w/o chopping too much of the important data.

Yep, it's a pain, just trim out all the duplicate columns. We just need to see one run from 2500-6500. Really just need rpm, timing, lambda/O2, specified and actual boost. So no soft codes either on a scan eh (ones that don't throw a CEL)? Stuff like a small boost or vacuum leak won't always trigger a CEL.

I should have added throttle angle to be included, but we'll assume you're at 100% for this.

You have no boost, car is in limp mode I assume. Stock boost is around 1600 mbar, with the readings starting around 1000. So you're only boosting around 4-5psi, when stock is around 8-9psi.

You're timing is just fine, along with the lambda readings.

I think you want to do the redneck reset and see if your boost comes back? Dave confirm process?

Are you tuned or not? Either way, you have no boost for some reason. Doesn't appear to be any boost leak as your actual boost catches up to the specified just fine.

So maybe a large amount of unmetered air getting in? Others will weigh in more I'm sure...

So it was slow, now even slower Kidding aside, did this happen out of the blue? I take back my unmetered air thought as you should be running lean if that's the case. Let's see if it comes back to stock at least after you reset. No boosting until you log or you risk just going back into limp mode.
