I've run through my first full tank on my RS6...

Now, in its defense, and as my girlfriend noted; "you've been throttling it since you got it".

    12.5 MPG

I can't see it getting better than that, but we shall see...I certainly didn't buy this for the fuel efficiency.

I really love the car, from the moment I turn the key, until the moment I put it in park...it's been a lovely first week.

Is a great feeling isn't it

Wait til you add ACES and a proper tune.

Very nice! I average about the same in mostly city with a little freeway. Out on the freeway cruising the number is closer to 20mpg. Besides fuel is dirt cheap these days!

I'll have to see where I can buy ACES in Canada. My car has a Unitronic tune, and an aftermarket exhaust.

This was primarily city driving. I had it out on the highway on Monday...such a beast.

I've been getting about 16mpg with mix city/highway. But every time I put my size 13 in it, the rush is worth every penny.

    This....

The best MPG that I got was from Redding, CA on I-5 northbound and headed to Seattle, WA was 24.6mpg at cruise controlled 62 mph.

    Why you might ask?
I got butthurt the day before by a CHP doing "81" in a 65 and he wrote it down to 75 (still a $400 ticket).
Going thru the Sierras on the backside thru 395 was effortless.

You've set the bar....BRB........I always keep mine at average, but if I set it to current it could be 5-6 under acceleration, maybe worse now that I'm dumping in 25% extra fuel...sure smells nice!

I didn't notice until this year, but the button on the bottom of the stalk makes the screen blank, for really ignoring that mpg.

Gotta laugh at this... I drive 90+% "city mode" sitting in DC area traffic, getting an average of ~9mpg. I think the best I ever got was highway from Ocean City, MD back to Northern VA, about 16mpg. Don't get me started on the ethanol rant, they're looking at upping the allowed percentage to 15% ethanol (which will kill gas mileage even worse).

Buying an RS6 and worrying about gas mileage is like buying a boat and worrying about it getting wet. Gotta pay to play!

    If so

I will move to a city/state that has 100% gas at the pumps

    No matter what the cost

Lucky you, closest to me is ~50 miles, with DC area traffic that's a 1:45-2:00 each direction drive... :|

This is why we can't have nice things
