What do I do with my stock downpipes?

i removed the stock converters today. They are still in excellent condition. I don't really want to scrap them for a few hundred bucks. Is there market for them since these cars are so rare?

I would imagine there's a market for them. Cats go bad, and they're expensive.

Take them to a metal recycler. You will get more for them there than selling them used.

Not a great market for them IMO. Lots of aftermarket ones that are less expensive in new condition.

You say "downpipes"? Do you have the whole downpipes or just the cats off them? I think they are worth something to someone looking to make a set of catless downpipes. That's what I did...

Complete down pipe set both sides. All intact with primary and secondary cats in great shape.

It seems someone is always looking for a set. I made my catless set out of them, just to use the turbo end.

I think the going rate is about 500 bucks for a set in good shape.

If you've got storage room, hold onto them for a couple years until people get desperate for replacement cats in places like VA where I'm at (cats required until the car is 25 years old) - DPs may go for $500 now, but in a few years when my cats get clogged, $2k to you will look a hell of a lot better than $4k or more from indy shops / probably $10k from stealership...

Best bet to hang onto 'em. Some states are very unfriendly when it comes to emissions. I'm amazed Massachusetts allows cars 15yrs or older to go without emissions testing. Other states like VA and CA are must stricter. Someone will need a set eventually.

It looks as if I need to clarify my previous post.

The going rate is about 500 bucks. Unless your Ben. Then it's half that.
