01E selector shaft

So my build thread got deleted, and it happen right when I had an issue with my transmission no neutral. I end up pulling everything back out and here is what I discovered-

the selector shaft is not moving, I try to give it few taps with a hammer and still no movement, I canceled that idea to avoid any damage. I proceeded to removing 2 coils at the top that lock the shaft and there was still no movement, then I proceeded to removing the cover that has the neutral/reverse switch, only then I was able to move the shaft through all gears with the cover off. When the cover is in place no movement, so the conclusion is that it's a wrong shaft or wrong cover, the shaft is too long.




Any advice from transmission gurus would be appreciated.

The shaft cover comes in 2 versions. Sounds like you have a early style shaft with a late style cap.

^So I end up cutting the shaft selector, and it allowed travel through all the gears with the cover on, this weekend she is ready to go back for the second time.
