LG make good Plasma screens, they're improved incredibly, not too sure if they make a 50" screen, I know they've recently showed off their 71" (!!!) .

42" is the smallest you really want to go with Plasma screens. This Panasonic is the only 50" we got which I'll attach a picture with this post. It (the quality, feel and picture clarity) is top notch. Although the power button on the screen itself can feel a little tacky at times, that's only a minor niggle.

I don't have any experience with any other 50" Plasma screens although we also have two 42" screens dotted around the place, with a 32" still in it's box.

I can recommend these 42"/32" models:
    The Sony KE42TS2E
The Sony KE32TS2 (Still in it's box)
    The Marantz FT4200

I can give a more detailed first hand experience report on each of the screens listed except the Sony KE32TS2 as it's still in it's box.

P.S You'll have to excuse the clutter around the front room. I guess the housewife took a week off at the time of taking the picture...

 Wow! Those speakers! What brand are those? Power output, sensitivity and so on? That looks like one nice home cinema...
I've got a friend who has a 60" TV not plasma though, and with a HUGE speaker system (above 600W power output). Watching movies at his place is a very interesting experience. Even the crappiest movies tend to get exciting... :hmm:

Those are our Bowers & Wilkins Nautilus 800 speakers.

More information can be found here:
    http://www.bwspeakers.com/index.cfm/...Nautilus%20800

It's more down to the AMPs on how much power (WRMS, etc)that can be produced.

Well, yes of course, the amps have the greater part but all the power is supposed to "come out" somewhere too.

    Klint,
Awesome Nautilus 800's, Don't you just love them they have a really good sound. I look at getting them before I bought my M&K's. What is you Pre-pro and amp. I saw you have Marantz PLasma, how do you like it. Do you know anything about the Fujitsu or NEC units. I am looking at getting the 61 inch.

    XCREAM,
Check out plasma screens at this website they have really good information.

My apologies, it's actually their 76" Plasma screen!!

    Point taken, Snow.

    Sturs6,
M&K make decent surround sound audio equipment, I've never really experienced any M&K equipment though.

I really enjoy the sound produced by the B&W Nautilus 800s, great clarity and the usual. The "Front Room Cinema" is constantly evolving, it always changes, or, at least did till the 'old man' found the perfect match which it is in the picture provided, he hasn't really had the need to change any parts of the system exept the cables, then when he does that's rare and we tend to go back to the previous set-up.

The old man is running two Classe Omega Mono Power AMPS into the Nautilus 800s and an Audio Research Ref. 2MKII Pre AMP.

I'm not at that particular residence at present as my folks are away in Austria skiing, so I can't check out the equipment myself and being an amature, I can't recognise the other "instruments" in that set-up. Once my folks are back I'll get better pictures and a more detailed list of the equipment used.

NEC and Fujitsu have been in the Plasma scene for some time, I also have yet to experience these brands. So, I can't give any kind of judgemental opinion on those. I would go for the one which suits you best, in price, size, picture quality (sound quality) and build quality. I've heard some good things about the NEC plasmas but this info is from a "second hand source". I've never really paid too much attention to the Fujitsu product line.

Best of luck with your decision! and keep us informed. It'll be appreciated.

Hm, I just found out yesterday that my friend is selling his gear I was talking about, I haven't spoken to him yet so I don't know the reason.
He wants about 2/5 of the price he bought it for! That's a HUGE value loss considering he's only had it for about 1.5 years.
