We could not hold out any longer. AoA needs to bring us an S4 or S6 Avant...but

This will have to do for now.

We would have shelled out for the S6 Avant in an instant but AoA has other ideas. Oh well so its the SQ5.

Cool looking color. Almost went Q5 TDI as there was 1 Daytona in SoCal but the wife really liked this color combo and the go pedal in the SQ5.

I also could not hold out

For the next RS 6, so I went AMG E63S; curious, was the E63S Touring on your radar at all?

My radar yes. But this is her car and the MB usa experience from her E55 sealed the deal. She will never step foot on a MB lot ever again. 6 gas tank leak events and the complete failure to stand behind the product will leave a mark on a female executive. While Audi events and sportscar experience days have made a positive mark in the Audi direction.

SUVs...my wife wanted a Merc ML and at the last minute changed her mind to a GL. Could have obviated the need for her to drive a landyacht if I could drive an Avant. Oh well.

Edited to add: What if Mercedes does manage to move a fair number of the E63S wagons? Would that encourage Audi to bring the RS6 Avant over? One could only hope :/

    Great choice, IMO - congrats!

How do you like it so far? Same engine as my S4, but rated at 21 HP more. I freekin' love my S4, and particularly that engine....

Thanks it's a fast sleeper for sure.

One test drive sealed the deal for my wife. She could tell it was fast

Sitting in the garage waiting for clear plex on the windshield and I have clearbra almost finished.

Then break in miles. Ready to add Aces and BND oil is already ordered.

    If I didn't own 2 RS6s......I would have a S4 or S6 for sure

You know I don't know these things. And why can't Euro marques make a feakin' gas tank, went through a few replacements with my C5 RS 6 and never even did the recall before I ditched it.

DHall1, call them and hope for the best. I saw an S6 avant here and wouldn't be surprised if there's a loophole. It had Michigan plates.

Both my RS6s are golden on the tanks.

Here is the deal...Audi has covered leaking gas tanks for RS6 owners no matter the mileage. Period

MB usa told me and most all other E55 AMG owners to pound sand no matter what the mileage.

You see what we have in the garage.

Yeah, I hear ya, I had that same type of experience with an intermitten headlight leveler error in the RS 6. We would sporadically get the extremely loud annoying beeping error multiple times in a day, then go weeks before it not happening again. Basically Happened from the first month after delivery, 10 service visits later issue remained, but, once the warranty was up AoA said go F yourself and washed their hands of it. I did not see that coming.

That is not the same as a leaking gas tank. 6 times on from 50k

I don't know, on some days, I think I would've preferred a leaking tank in hopes the RS 6 would catch on fire over hearing that damn error every few minutes on a long commute home
