    question for all the manual swap guys...

    what kind of clutch are you all running on your 01e swapped Beasts? im doing a manual swap with a built diesel tranny but i need to figure out what kind of clutch i am going to be needing to get? lets assume for now that it will need to handle 1000+hp and 750ft/lb at the crank but i dont want to need a bionic leg to push that thing down. occasionally i like to take it to work and that is a dreadful commute through the highways of the Washington DC metropolitan area....

    I'm using a south bend stage 4+. So far it's holding.

    Looking for a knocking on wood icon.

    I am using a Spec Stage 3+. Needs a good 1000 mile breakin, but is holdng my power very well...up to about 4000 miles on it now...

    I'm guessing around 520bhp/530lb-ft. Won't know for sure until sometime in Oct when I go to Chicago Performance & Tuning for a little dyno time.

    You need to ask b5 s4 guys, most of them use Tilton clutches.
    Might as well upgrade your synchros and such with JHM/034 stuff.

    On EPL's Mustang dyno, I am between 450-480awhp (550-580awtq), depending on the weather...that is obviously a custom tuned car.

    Kevin and TTBoost, can you guys comment on drive-ability / clutch chatter when taking off from a stop?

    My car runs and drives very well with the Spec Stage 3+. It DID chatter when new, and DID take about 1000 miles to break in, but now that it is broken in...it feels great..and holds the power fine...no complaints and would buy it again...

    I think most have the same results with the South Bend, but it doesn't seem to hold the power...long...

    I'm using a SB stage 4 extreme. It had typical chatter at first then as it broke in it was better but still not 100% gone. Comes with the territory. No slippage yet and I've been pounding it pretty hard.

    Do you have a part number? Is it the same as the 2.7T one? Just curious.

    Yep...mine was ordered based on a A6 2.7T, but probably the same as a B5 S4...

    I'm running AMD/Clutchmasters stage 4 clutch, specifically designed for high torque applications. I am almost broken in at 900 miles. It has a relatively light pedal, sporty engagement with no chatter once you get used to the grab point and you pay attention. Easy to drive smoothly, designed to last some good miles.

    Break in tune so far, maybe has 350 awhp/450awtq. Going back to AMD within the week to add power.
