Question High speed fan comes on within 10 sec's after startup

Cold start and high speed fan comes on. Had just changed a coolant sensor as part of a large overhaul of things 5 months ago. Faulty? Am I correct in understanding a faulty coolant sensor will cause the fan to turn on?

Should throw a code. Not nessesarily the cel. I would scan it. I think it'll be p0118 iirc. Then yes, probably new coolant sensor.

Couple of possibly silly questions. Is the fan affected by you turning on or turning off (or going to Econ) the Climate Control? Are you sure it is the fan and not the SAI pump?

I recall having similar issues. Eventually overheated.

Does it stay on after you switch off the engine?

Might check to make sure the AC switch upfront at the bumper didn't come unplugged. That will trip the fan on too.
