VIN Ranges and Production Dates
Came across this information on an Audi serivce bulletin, and thought it would be of interest. Looked in the Audi Wiki FAQ area, but didn't see a link to this info, so uncertain if it has been previously posted. Anyway, for those that have any interest:

Production Date: May 13, 2003 through March 09, 2004
(CANADA) 2004 Model Year
WUA_ _ _4B_3N901231 - WUA_ _ _4B_3N901551
Production Date: February 26, 2004 through April 08, 2004

Does this mean there were 1872 RS6's sent to the United States?
905813 - 903941 = 1872
The only reason I ask is that I have heard a "story" that the original plans were to send ~850 RS6's to the US. Later, a shipment of ~1000 were redirected from another country to the US. I don't remember the exact number quoted, but the total was higher than the 850 commonly reported.
Can anyone confirm or deny this claim?
