2010 RS6 for sale in Mexico!

    Good day!
I Know the USA and Canada did not get the C6 RS6, fortunatelly it was sold in Mexico. I went to Autoplaza.com.mx and just found a C6 RS6 AVANT for sale with less than 19,000 kms!
Here is the link if someone is interested and has the way the legalize it in the USA.

    http://www.autos-usados.autoplaza.co...A24542144.aspx

DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT KNOW ANYONE RELATED TO THIS SALE, I AM JUST INFORMING HERE IN CASE SOMEONE FINDS IT USEFUL.

You are right, the price may sound high, but remember that the people the bought one of the 20 RS6 C6 (5 of those 20 are avant) here in Mexico know what kind of car this is. Also the price when it was new was a little more than $1,800,000.00 MXN O.o

If this doesn't show how effed up our DOT is, that Mexico gets a C6 RS6, and the US doesn't, I don't know what does. Of course, part of the equation is that general Audi attitude to screw the US........

Tack on another 30k to buy an A6 Avant to get the vin tags off of and register it as an A6 Avant, then insure it as though you did an engine swap to the A6. Then 'chop shop' the A6 and hopefully get a good chunk of that back.....but yes 100k is fairly steep...might get off cheaper buying one in EU...

option #2 is buy the cheapest possible piece of property in Mexico and set up whatever the equivalent of an LLC is and register it to that. Then bring it up here and keep Mexican registration on it...insurance would be slightly nightmarish to put it lightly, though you might not actually need it depending on what the international laws on suing a foreign company are....

If I were in the market I would probably go the A6 route...

All in with a C5 RS6 avant conversion with full vin numbers and swapped properly into a C5 S6 chassis. $35k

    Priceless

I researched what it would take to buy a shanty in Mexico. For a crime ridden corrupt country it sure costs a lot of money to buy anything.

Hmmmmm..... I have a close friend who owns a house in Acapulco. He is half Mexican, and his wife was born there. He had the house built from scratch. I could probably register it under his address. All I need is another $97,000 USD and this sucker will be calling it's new home the Great White North!

Yep it's going to cost well north of 100k for a US citizen to drive this car in the US. I'll gladly give up 2 cylinders and 100-150hp in exchange for +$70k. Maybe in 3-4 years the C6 prices will fall enough to make it feasible.

Has anyone thought about contacting a Registered Importer and petitioning to have an RS6 imported? I figure $25k and 6 months and you have a legit car

There was a Canadian company that already tried and failed. It was going to cost them way more than $25K too.

At the end of the day you have to grow some balls and not worry so much if the car you're driving has an FMVSS sticker or not. I've never seen nor heard of any police officer, insurance adjuster, etc. ever checking for an FMVSS sticker. I didn't even know one existed until you brought it up.

Hmmm. I guess that would be one way of looking at it. Some might say you'd have to be stupid to drive around in a car that exposes you to a huge liability if you were ever involved in an accident. Especially if it was your fault and there was a fatality. When I had insurance adjusters look at my cars in the past, the first thing they did was open the drivers door and take a photo of the FMVSS sticker with the VIN on it and then the windshield VIN. You can bet your ass that when they saw that was missing it would send up a red flag and they would thoroughly investigate what was going on. An insurance company would love to deny a million dollar claim. But i'm a cautious person and I have my business, home, cars, etc. well insured. I guess everyone has a different perspective. One persons balls is another's foolhardiness.
