From my experience (observation) the rear has plenty of room for wider wheels. I'd venture a guess that 10.5" would fit, perhaps with a 295 rear tire. The front? I don't see how it would work w/o putting on new fenders (for 275's)- or adding fender flares. OR, using narrow tires..... which don't need all the tire width; obviously going for "looks"....and using narrow tires.
They might work driving in a straight line with 275's.....
My 19x9.5's ET33 and 275/35 tires are within 3mm of the "de-nubbed" front uprights. With a front 26" ride height (fender to ground) and the inner fender screw removed it doesn't rub, except on full lock when the tire lightly grazes the plastic liner (a 275/30 would likely prevent this; I did not like the look of 275/30's on my car).
Who's knows, maybe you'll be the first.
Cheers, G2/Gary

My RS6 came with staggered 20 inch, 8.5 in the front and 10 in the rear.
Tires:
245/35x20 front
255/35x20 rear
Issues I have:
a) rear are stretched (don't like the look)
b) diameter are on the large side (26/33mm larger than stock 245/40x18), but work
c) diameter difference is in the high side (for quattro diff longevity): 686.5/679.5 = 1% or 7mm height difference)
Mathematically good staggered 20" combinations are:
235 35 20 275 30 20
and
245 35 20 285 30 20
Is 235 for the front too narrow?
Is 275 or (even wider and taller) 285 in 30% series too wide/tall for the rear?
You didn't post your offsets, so hard to say.
I find this tire/wheel calculator to be the most intuitive.

Plug all your info in and see what it looks like. You may have to input twice as you seem to be running different sizes front to rear. I know you can get away with 275's on 19's but not sure about 20's. I had 275's on all 4 corners with a 19x9.5 ET29.
We want to leave the front 245/35x20 as is.
For the 10" wide rear, the matching (rolling diamter for quattro diff life) would be 285/30x20 on the 20x10 wheel with 42 offset.
Haven't found a tire dealer to do a 'practice fit' (tires in that size too rare I guess).
Trying to get confirmation if rear will fit?
Currently running
front: 245/35x20 on 20x8.5 ET32 (no issue)
rear: 255/35x20 on 20x10 ET42 (no fit issue; just don't like stretch look, and rolling diameter difference front/back is 7mm or 1%.)
You have to watch for inner well clearance in the rear. There's much more space if you're running coil-overs with "narrower" springs. I'd say it will fit if you are, but double-check for tire hitting the spring if you aren't.
In the rear I'm running 295/35/18 winter tires and 315/30 for summer. A tiny bit rolled fenders, and it's still a VERY tight fit.
EDIT: edited to make it clear, talking only about rears!

On what wheels are you running the 18" winters? What diameter are the summer? What wheels are the summers on. (diameter, width, offset)? We are running coil overs with narrower springs. On the 255/35x20 there is PLENTY of space to springs. More concerned about the 15mm the tire edge will be come out at the fender edge. With the 'stretched' 255, they certainly tuck in nicely under the fender.
Is anyone else running staggered on RS6? If so, what sizes?
I run both summer/winter on one set of wheels, which are Porsche Carrera 18's, 10" front and 11" rear.
I'm not sure on the offsets since I bought the car this way and didn't source the wheels on my own. As a wild guess: wheels should be ~ET65 and adapter spacers are ~25mm, effectively making the wheels ~ET40. I will check definite offsets once I get to changing to summers (should be relatively soon-ish).
Here's the only "wheel" pic I currently have, took it few months ago:
EDIT:
Google claims that rears are ET51, meaning with spacers they are ~ET30. ET58 for fronts, therefore ~ET35 real. I'm not 100% certain on spacer width, hence the approximation. Will confirm later.

Hard to believe you are running 315/30x18 on all 4 corners. Even with big offset, i would think they stick out to for, and in the front certainly hit the inner fender when turning.
The 'tire edge' (distance of the outer edge of the tire from hub face):
on our current setup (255x35R20, offset 42, 3mm spacer) is: 127.5+3-42=88.5mm from hub face.
285 tires (loose the spacer): 142.5-42=100.5
Your 315/30R18 on say 18x10 ET58, 15mm spacer: 157.5+15-58=114.5
