Finally got my set up done.

    VMR V701 19x9.5 et33, 275/30/19 tires with 12mm spacers front and back.

Had a slight bit of rubbing up front but I removed the fender liner screw and that seemed to fix it. Ideally I would like to run a 5mm spacer up front, but I had these already on the car.

I would like to be lower than this in the future but for now it works fine.

I suffered catastrophic wheel damage and needed to get replacements quick. I found a very cheap solution with OEM Audi wheels - A5 wheels. 18x8.5, ET29. That's 1mm difference in offset! They won't be the lightest wheels but they're factory OEM and for $98 a piece shipped I think I won on the quality vs price ratio.

Gears turning in my head, and someone mentioning that there is a LOT of space in the rear...how about a staggered setup? Stick with 18x8.5 up front, but go 19x11 in the rear with 295/30 R19 tires? Who knows with real world variations between brands, but theoretical tire calculators show only a very minute difference in rolling circumference and diameter between stock sized 255/40R18, and 295/35R19. If it fits, that'll be pretty cool. I do have to wonder about what effect that would have on handling. Would it worsen understeer?

    Yes, absolutely.
Also 295 might be pushing it. 285 could be a better choice. Either way, try to get a test fit before committing.

I definitely want to do 275, probably not even push it to 285. But 295/30R19 is spot on exactly what a 255/40R18 is. Due to financial constraints foreseen in the 1st and 2nd quarter 2019 and expected tire replacement times, I'm thinking I'm going to have to move to wider 19" wheels two at a time.
