Yes, that was a scary pic...burned into my mind....so you're saying those weren't stock headers that deformed on the inside?

Those were stock headers that were toasted. I was just sayin- and not very well- since the OEM headers lasted about 150K miles, I stuck with the OEM for the replacement and repair..

Just over 90k here, will inspect the headers. Talked to Performance, good pricing and just one state away, perfect...

Brad was saying he's never seen the coating flake off, exterior or interior, but if it did it's soft and wouldn't hurt the turbine...

Very exciting. Jealous of those block off plates.

I've been running with a set of home made SAI block off plates for about 7k miles. I didn't know about the 034 ones and the time I spent woudl have made them the cheaper option.

I've only had a CEL twice, but am wondering what your plan is for tuning to account for this?

I assume with the SAI system disabled you always have one OBD2 "readiness" bit that isn't set?

Jerry at Eurocharged said he'd try to code the SAI out. Or, if that doesn't work, I may try a resistor bridge at the fan wire harness.

Like Steve I also installed block off plates when I had my engine out a few months ago. I've now got 1000miles on it and also have never had a SAI code. Since I installed the Catless Millteks I do get a Catalyst code every other time I drive the car, funny though as I only get the left side Catalyst but not the right.

Wow, no lift! Haven't seen that with an RS6 before. I did it with my A6 but that's a hell of a lot simpler and I didn't have to take the subframe out. Sweet hydraulic table, looks a lot easier than a hoist.

yes... no lift. Tucked way in the corner of the shop. The hyd table worked as I hoped it would. It really was a piece of cake going back in. I did 95% of the fastening of frt suspension/drive axles, etc while the assembly was 6 inches from the chassis. Had access to all of it then just raise and bolt into position!

Even with the lift in my shop I used an almost exact duplicate of the hydraulic table in your pic to lower my engine/tranny from the car and to wheel it out from underneath. It was a great purchase, a Harbor Freight cheapie but with a 1000# lift capacity and it worked like a charm. Nice, slow, and smooth getting it back into the car.

I have a single post for everyday line work and a low raise sissors lift. Advantage with stands in that the entire underside is open! Disadvantage of course, is rolling around on the floor.

What is load capacity on that hyd table?

1100lbs and I also reversed the handle so that it would fold away from the table. Much more versatile this way.
