    cat delete apr map

Hi everyone hope you are all well!

so just wanted to ask, has anyone done a secondary cat delete, i spoke with the APR folk here in oz and they have a file created to run with the cat delete...just curious to see if anyone thinks the mod is worth it

all i need to do is take the cats off and send away my ECU for the day, and they will load in the new software for her....

There are a quite a few on the list with the Primary Cat's deleted but only a few that have both deleted. I think Elevens & V8weight are running Catless.

You'll have to take off the DP's in order to remove the pre-cats. Then they're not tough to get at.

Here's the thread where I removed my pre-cats. Not that hard, but not easy by any means. Definitely not something to attempt with your Stanley screwdriver set.

Here is the thread when I removed the main catalysts later on. I actually just cut the main cats out with a sawzall, gutted them, then welded them back in.

Ya, spool is more noticeable. REALLY noticeable with Pat's car. Totally catless and eisenmann exhaust.

does anyone make a complete straight-through downpipe that would mate up with a catback? Seems to be a cleaner/better solution than gutting cats. Plus, gutting cats isn't any fun; I've done it on bike cats, and it's a messy, dusty affair with a drill, a Dremel, and a lot of swearing...

I checked their website, didn't see anything listed, but I think I'll give them a ring. For the past five years, I've driven a car with no cats, resonators, or mufflers. It's cheap - just 4" piping. But my future RS6 is meant to be the "civilized" car...but I love popping on overrun, so I'll see if they've got a resonated catback minus mufflers and straight catless downpipes. That should strike about the right balance of roar and hopefully not create highway drone, plus allow me to talk to my wife in the car without raising my voice. In my Skyline, we practically need headsets....

turbocharged cars HATE cats. Mufflers too. The more restrictions you remove, the happier they get.
