    Question Comfort Signal Mod (???)

"Comfort Signal" is quickly activating the signal via the stalk and releasing will make the signal blink 3 times more without you having to hold the signal and then self cancel.

Has anyone done this to their RS6 yet?

I found this about doing it to a B5:

I find it difficult to search here sometimes. I asked about it a while back, so I know it was in here somewhere!

vBulletin is really difficult to search. Hopefully the upgrade Erik has in the works will have better search functionality.

That said, I'm going to do this mod... thanks for the find.

Ahhh memories...of me complaining about my car in the shop...hasn't been since thank goodness (at least not for suspension issues). I have yet to get around to doing this though apparently I have had the part/kit for a year and a half, but i may end up putting it in the dash as I mentioned in there as i did find the wiring diagram in the Bentley info and it should be just as easy to tap in behind the hazard button like the instructions suggest for the passat that the kit is really for.

    Did this mod today:
took about 15 minutes for access to the harness
took about 60 minutes to decode the instructions and DIY write up and test the OEM harness versus the Komfortblinker relay and jumper.
took about 10 minutes to put all back together...

    Test successful

For those interested, post here and I can give part numbers and links to directions.

Hey Ben, I may be interested. Since we bought our GMC acadia (family hauler) I have really liked the komfort blinker it has. It's the only thing about the gmc, that I like more that my beast.

Mark, I really haven't looked yet into these relays, what is the price for yours?

The part number on the relay was this one - 000953227A ($79)
I know that I ordered this one - 000998229A ($56) - this is the one to order

I emailed Genuine FIRST to make sure it is available and called Komfort Blinker and it has the wiring harness included.
Genuine has it listed under VW, not Audi.

The exact link/DIY I used was this one - http://forums.audiworld.com/showthread.php?p=22496272 - great photos!
This one by KfabR8 is really good also - http://www.rs6.com/showthread.php/16...l=1#post166547

One thing about the DIY's that isn't mentioned or isn't really clear but we figured it out:
The listing of the function of the komfort blinker relay is described in both - ok, we are good here.
The listing of the existing turn signal harness is NOT listed or described - so which wire goes where?

So here is what I have:

Relay tab #2 - Left Turn Blink
    OEM harness - black/white
    KB harness - white

Relay tab #5 - Right Turn Blink
    OEM harness - black/green
    KB harness - green

    Relay tab #8 - Blinker
    OEM harness - black/white/green
    KB harness - white/green

Relay tab #6 - ignition power (I ran it to 75x like in the photos)
    OEM harness - n/a
    KB harness - black/white

Relay tab #4 - ground - I ran mine to the ground by the foot rest - you will see it
    OEM harness - n/a
    KB harness - brown
