I love the spec, wouldn't change anything.

The black optics, daytona, wheels splitter etc all go perfectly.

Just washed the car after an 80 mile run today.

Took a few pics and so I'll upload them in a few minutes.

Haven't really pushed it yet but drove 80 miles today with my whole family (all 5 of us) and they is buckets of space. Very very impressed. Also I averaged 30.8, wouldn't see that in the rs6!!

Steve this is totally un-car related, your garage is just as messy as mine.

Seeing that car seat in the back is (to me at least) what an RS is all about. The ultimate family hauler! From the very first RS 2, all the way through to the latest RS 3, they all are able to haul around a family.

Obviously, the RS 5 stretches the concept, and the new TT RS is the obvious exception. But until these came along, 4 doors was the rule. Fast AND practical.

    Steve,

One question that I am curious about is gearing. Whats the approx mph/1000rpm in 7th as I had heard that 7th gear was set quite high, hence the good economy figures for such a quick car.

    regards

Yep the gearing in D is definitely designed for economy. If you take off easy you'll be in D4 before you blink an eye.

I'll check but I think you can go into 7 at around 40mph.

The car is so practical. All 5 of us out and the kids kept wanting turns in the front and so my wife swapped and sat in the back with not worries at all.

Also to comment to the ride, it's not harsh at all. Very comfy (although the roads I normally drive are good) and the youngest went off to sleep on the way home.

The S button is awesome. When you want to hear the exhaust you press it and when you are cruising back on the motorway and want a bit of peace, switch it off and you can't hear a thing.

Went through my first tunnel, windows down, S pressed and the noise was truly awesome. The kids went bananas!!

I truly feel this car is a great RS. Practical, fast, Q car, split personality.

Look forward to a few runs with just me next week but out for the day with the family again today (The Touran and RS6 will be staying at home)

Joker when I saw that pic I thought, you can see me in the shiny bumper and the mess of my garage but didn't really car!!

Steve, is your RS6 also Daytona Grey, was be a great picture to have both them sat side by side. By the way the garage thing was only a joke, just messing with you, I know what it's like having kids.

Many now view the 1M as BMW's best M in recent years and I'm of the opinion the RS3 also falling into that category, its the very essences of what RS is all about and what Ben was banging on about. Pretender doubts Audi will replace this car in the new model but I think that would be a real crying shame if they didn't because this is the one we all want to own.

My RS6 is black but some numpty drove into me in the carpark on Friday last and so it doesn't look too pretty at the moment. Ragin as they drove off and there was no CCTV!!!

So it's sitting at the side of my house and I need to get it fixed sometime this week as I am going to put it on the market.

I'll be sure and get a photo of the two of them first :-)

Had another fun day in it again today. Loving it, the noise is going to get me into trouble!!
