I'm glad to read that both the driver and his son survived. The car seems to have performed exactly as designed, it was sacrificed to protect it's occupants. Obviously this is every enthusiasts worst nightmare to be struck by a careless motorist, but at least the outcome was positive, as the car can be replaced.

Good Lord, reminds me of the famous photo of the torn-in-half RS6 that went around a few years ago, with the driver taking pictures in the background. Very glad to hear father & son were okay in this one. Puts a bit more pressure on me to get the wife and baby out of her Jetta & into something a little bigger & safer (probably a Touareg).

I believe it was 3 people in the car, the driver, his wife, and their 5 year old son. Only injury was his son broke his arm.
