NO. It wont happended.
New R8 GT is already in ETKA/ELSA. It will have 560hp as is posted in another thread.
R8 line up for MY11 will be:
R8 4.2 430ps(July 2010)
R8 5.2 525ps
R8 GT 560ps(November 2010)
Gallardo MY11:
LP560-4 560ps
LP570-4 SL 570ps
BTW, LP570-4 SL is last version of Gallardo and R8 GT is last version of R8 till model change...
R8
you mean R8 5.2 not 5.3.
wonder if GT will be stripped down version like the M3 CSL.

I dont see anything about the R8GT in EKTA in any country.
looks like my OP info was right. thanks to the source.
lets hope the US availability is right too. i bet this thing will cost an arm and a leg. i just hope it isn't a stripped down version.
on another note- the 2011 R8 V8 will have to have the RS5 engine. 75 hp difference will be ok vs V10, esp. since i'd also expect audi to raise the price for the V8 by 2-3K.

Kreso-are there any posibilities o a RWD R8 production car so that the R8 LMS can run over here in the U.S.? I heard from someone with Audi sport, that they are trying to bring that program over here, but it hasn't been eligable to race due to a AWD system from the factory and RWD race version
Dear MihokS5,
United Autosports signed with Audi Motorsport to start with two R8 LMS within the FIA GT3 European Series this year. You might know Zak Brown and his crew.
This is something to start off with, regarding a future for the R8 LMS outside the European FIA GT3 Series.

The rear bumper is almost identical to the R8 LMS isn't it?
Slightly OT; I asked Abt if they are able to do a widebody LMS conversion for the R8 body, but they said that the kit is not approved for street use, thus the answer is no :/
wedouglas, if ABT would sell the wiidebody kit as an aftermarket addon modification, wouldn't the USA bumper crash standards be waived? Various wide body kits are added everywhere on all kinds of cars, with no need for them to meet any national safety standards or testing.
Also, I am sure that soon we will see a few private racing teams buying some used 4.2L R8's and then converting these platforms to full race cars, all requring widebody kits.
Unfortunately, I fear that ABT's normal pricing structures will always make this discussion about a possible ABT widebody kit, a little too hypothetical.
