I promise to post the solution

I've been searching like hell through all of the threads on "down on power" and really don't recall seeing any that definitively state what fixed the problem - save one that referred to an "overlay" between the N75 and ECU. Many talk about what they are going to look into and the last post on the thread is someone reminding the OP to please post the solution.

Here's what I've observed: Comparatively sluggish 0-60 times, in the range of 5.4-6.0. New IC's improved the feel noticeably but stopwatch says sluggishness remains. This in 45F weather.

Here's the car:Mostly stock RS6, MTM TCU (18 mos. ago), ITG filters (1mo, ago), new Apikol Intercoolers (OEM's were leaking badly), with Silicone hose kit 93 Octane fuel.

Here's what's been done recently:new ITG filters, recent tranny flush, fluid looked good, IC replacement req'd partial drain, fluid still looked good, 55k svc (plugs replaced), new Apikol IC's and Venair silicone hose kit.

    Here are today's logs
    :

Prior to the IC's replacement I logged some tranny data and nothing looked off, RPMs and MPH stayed in lock step, no slip or funny shifting or "plateauing" of speed or RPM's.

I see a number of possible issues but would like to hear from anyone that has actually solved the problem.

It doesn't like the length of my logs so posting separately.

Edit: MTM trans chip...I didnt read properly......your trans is toast or ECU is pulling some boost.

    Best guess.

Now, there are any number of reasons why the ECU would call for reduced boost levels. But its not like a major fault happened because your still getting almost stock levels of boost.

If there was a major fault the boost would go right to 1000 and stay there. (Gerry can chime up on that one)

Clear all codes and reset the ecu. Do it again with more logs after the reset.

The MTM TCU chip is toast?? It's a stock ECU.

And as for the trans being toast, that doesn't seem consistent with clean unburnt fluid at flush or minor drain and topoff and general seat of the pants proper operation. Also logs (which I will redo) for trans parameters seemed okay. Tell me what to blocks to log to verify proper operation and I'll make sure they're in my saved log list.

just a thought - you've stated 93 octane. is that a typo ? The euro spec is to use 98 octane.

    Dear RS6-4dr911,

i would assume a faulty wiring going to the MAFs. The MAFs themself are most likely not the problem. If the signal coming from the MAFs is "not clean" -> could cause an issue as described.

    Anyway, check your brake-light switch.

MAF 1 is so different to 2...

My guess change MAF 1, or the wiring.

My uneducated/unprofessional and generally numb grey matter's pure guess would be the above and/or the solenoid.

    Octane Rating Methods

    Hi Batty,

93 Octane is (R+M)/2 Method for US -- it is roughly the same as your 98 Octane rating (RON) in the UK. Google Octane there are lots of links to find that explain this in greater detail.

    Example from:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_...en_RON_and_AKI

    Difference between RON and AKI

"Because of the 8 to 10 point difference noted above, the octane rating shown in the United States is 4 to 5 points lower than the rating shown elsewhere in the world for the same fuel.".

I'll update my threads to confirm that the new tranny is my "solution" as soon as I get my car back from IPT.

about a month, and I must say- the performance seems great from my seat of the pants dyno (could be a placebo effect- who knows).

My complaints with IPT were just that it took much longer than Ty told me it would take- second it was like pulling teeth to get information about the status from Ty, and he in fact just told untruths about it having shipped when it had not- and third the tranny was received with pan and strainer bent up due to the way it was "strapped" on the pallet. To date- IPT has refused to process a freight claim or reimburse for the part cost.

However; I can put up with a little bullsh*t to have a performing tranny that I trust will perform for miles to come.

Good luck, and I look forward to hearing about your experience and opinions on the tranny!

I didn't go with itp for the same reason, being lied to...

I called Ty and told him what was going on and told him I wanted to have them build my tranny, and that he would call me back with the details by the next day. I waited a week before I called back and when I spoke with him and asked if he was able to get the information I needed he said "what information?". I tell him the information that he was going to call me back by the next day with. He trieds to play it off "oh yeah, I'm just waiting to hear back from my guy, ill give you a call back in a bit with it.". I never received a call back, and I would never call them back after trying to give them business and being treated like an idiot.

Quality or not, I won't work with a company if they don't treat me how I would expect to be if spending some money.

started only after they had the tranny in their shop. If I had known about Ty's "issues", I would have gone elsewhere like sh*t out a goose.

I found this regarding the PO103 codes on an old link

. May not be helpful but thought I would let you see it. It hurts my head to read through the entire thread.

P0103 (Mass or Volume Air Flow Circ. High Input) and P1557 (charge Pressure Contr. Positive Deviation): Check for Air Leaks in Pressure Side Air Duct.

Hail mary and I don't have a clue if it is even pertinent.
