    Me vs Sti

Ran against one 3 times last night---lots of fun.

Here are a run down of the races- each car had 3 people.

Run 1- No power brake on my side, he drops it at 4500-5000 rpm. He got a HUGE jump on me, but never pulled, and i caught up at about 115.

Run 2- I power brakes to 2000 rpm, and he dropped it at 4500-5000. This was the best run, he got a nose on me with the launch, but I was past him over 80 or 90.

Run 3- i power braked again, and he dropped it at the same- I didn't get quite as good a launch, and he got half a car from me on the launch. I passed him at 100.

I have to say, I respect that car. For the money, it is friggin quick!

Somone has a video of the third run, when i can find it will post it.

    Thanks for the write up!

If I had unlimited garage space, I would definitely want one of those, minus the rear spoiler and gold wheels. I could see myself havings LOTS of fun beating on it, doing things that I would never dream of doing with the RS6. I would like an Evo too... If I only had the resources of Jay Leno...

Scooby's STi are very quick, specially from 0 to 100 km/h (62mph), but your RS6 should have not past it, but fried it!

In SA all of them are modified, you hardly ever see a stock STi.

    not bad

    Nice work J.

I wonder if we were capable of dropping it at 4K if the run would have been different? Not that I would ever do such a thing to my car, even if it was a $25K car. Can't imagine that being a good thing, when done over and over again.

    Good showing though.

I read in one test that they power braked the Audi at over 3K to get their best run. Have you noticed how Motor Trend always seems to get the best 0-60 numbers ... what did they do to get their 4.3 sec run versus R&T and C&D runs of 4.4-4.6? To top it all, it seems to be the same Red car with Carbon Fiber trim!

I just read an article on the sti vs. the Lancer. They claimed the 0-60 was 5.8 & 5.7 respectively. Someone seems to have srewed up by a second or so ...
