not a single doubt the V10. the sound of the V10 will never repalce the sound of a V8. and you cna also remove the restriction to give it full 560hp power as the lamp LP560....

does anyone have info on the R888 mtm car? numbers are uber impressive - but at what cost? I suppose all of the internals of the audi block had to be changed for something stronger to cope with this power lvls, anyone know who the lucky owner is?

The MTM is NOT the king of the R8 42.L world. Throw out the MTM, V10 or not, and choose the PPI Audi R8 Razor GTR, then the V10 R8 would be like a cheap ball boy trying to play with the big guys. If they make V10 PPI Razor GTR, then the picture would change. But only then.

Yep, keep those ball boys coming.
There is not one thing a R8 v10 could do better than a 4.2L PPI Audi R8 Razor GTR. Nothing even close.

Except not looking like a "ricer boy" and delivering sound & performance that is way beyond 99,9% percent of the automobile world - in stock condition.

So you are right - nothing even close...

The Razor will find it's buyers - but they look for something different than the ones that are looking at the V10.

So my choice is an obvious one - especially after spending 1 week / 3k Km with the V10

V10 looks better. Probably has better comfort.
My guess would be that all the things PPI has done to make it a better track car make it a worse street car.

Yes, I agree completely. If you are buying a new R8, buy the V10. But the performance KING of the R8's is the PPI RAZOR GTR. And it is completely crzy crzy expensive. If you now own a 4.2L R8. and want more power, don't sell it and buy a V10. Get one the better new Superchargers from a high quality company like VF-Engineering, that will soon be released. It will probably have equal or more HP and will have significantly more torque, and will be much more economical than selling a 4.2L and then buying a new V10... And it will NOT have the completely awful V10 front grille mesh!
All of the R8's are great great cars.
