Ok guys, lets go.
First of all i was heading to ABT today. About near Stuttgart i met a nice new M3 which was in race mood so we had a short stint, unfortunatly due to traffic it was very short. However i made some videos...to be uploaded asap.
At that time the RS6 was stock and caught the M3 after a bit.
Once at ABT my car was taken care of and i looked around in their showroom and made some nice pictures of various DTM cars. Suddenly i heard some heavy noise outside and sticked my head out of the window. There it was....ABT's R8 Kompressor with complete bodykit, new exhausts, carbon optics everywhere etc. The technicans did some testdrives outside and this thing was incredibly loud and sounded awesome. So...i needed to get a testdrive! Unfortunatly this car was already sold...guess to whom! Lukas Podolski himself!
Well not a problem at all since ABT had a second R8 waiting....this one beeing a prototype still needing bodywork. However engine and technical things were already done so i jumped in and drove away. All i can say is....this baby really really is damn quick. I am pretty sure it does 0-100 in less than 3,9s (ABT says 3,9 for the normal kompressor....read below). This was a prototype....i will not publish any numbers but it has way more than anything out there right now. The power is just awesome...this one had the pure manual gearbox so it was even more fun to drive it! I still cant believe how this thing accelerated when i drove onto the autobahn...just insane.
I do have videos which will be uploaded asap.
Edit: Unfortunatly the video from accelerating towards the autobahn is unuseable since the g-force made me film the shift knob....guess i need to get some tape next time to tag it to the steering wheel.
Ok after having a long break to calm down i finally got my RS6 back and drove back home. Its almost a complete other car....acceleration is much better and neck breaking. I wasnt able to do a complete Vmax test, however ABT offers 3 options: 280km/h, 310km/h and 340km/h vmax depending on tyre used. I do have the pirelli pzero corsa and according to ABT these are good for 340km/h....so guess which option i had choosen
Again videos are to be uploaded soon.
So untill i have finished uploading the videos....see pictures below:
