That car has no presence,it's "gravitas" is on par with Avalon or Genesis ,that's how bland looking it is,an overblown A4.
It has a terriffic interior,I was very, very impressed by it (coming from CGT Speed) but that's about it.
If you are looking for an absolute stealth mobile this is it......
Isn't that what the A8 has always been. The original one was just an upscaled Audi 80. Between the 7series and the S-class (RR, Bentley further up the price scale) it's good to have some understatement in the segment. Since you're coming from a coupé looking to get into a big Audi, perhaps the A7 is more up your alley.

That was just my initial reaction to base car at the show.
Will wait and see the S8,hopefully more aggressive and more competitive performance wise then the previous iteration.

well I finally saw the new A8 in person this weekend. Audi parked one in the middle of downtown in Vancouver to get some publicity i guess. It doesn't look as bad as it did in pictures. But it does look like an A4. A regular person who doesnt know about Audi's, would definitely confuse it with an A4 and would not think its a $100k car. It's nice to see that 4.2 TDI finally made it to NA.

"The Art of Progress" Hdtomi thank you for sharing the new A8 commercial with us. The new A8 is beautifully displayed in that advertisement and the ASF is pure art. Found it interesting that Audi has introduced new tone branding at the end of the commercial, along with the revised ring logo.

As much as I still dislike the exterior, that interior is just stunning!

You'd have to go back about 20 or so pages...

Short version, I find the exterior... how should I say this... "dull".

Ben, I think you are being a bit harsh. You should check out the pics at Fourtitude.com gallery Geneva. The A8 is quite stunning in those pictures especially with the unique 21" rims on it. I am sure that in person the A8 will be quite formidable. It has very elegant lines. I'm lovin' it and it will find its way into my garage next year.
