    Dash Trim Conversion?

    Hi all,

I have been in the market for an RS6 for sometime now. I have found a few nice ones that have the walnut trim. I am curious if I can purchase the carbon fiber inserts. Does anyone know if they are still available from Audi? Otherwise, I will have to beg someone here to trade.

    Thank you for your help.

They are avalible but they are also $2300 for all trim pieces because you have to buy each piece sepratly.

It takes all sorts, because I really hate CF trim. I'd love the piano black one though as it looks lush.

ya, like drew said, it's probably going to be cheaper to find someone to trade the trims with rather than purchasing from audi.

Or keep an eye open for someone breaking a '6 for parts. Also have a look on eBay as sometimes you get them on there.

Personal preference's aside, it sounds like the only savings is the lightness in one's wallet....

Thanks for the replies. In the event I get the car and find a trade, how difficult is it to change the inserts?

mmm, i was sure it was, but i've checked etka, and the answer is a resounding "no". carbon inlays were unique to the rs6. so there you go.

C5 S6 in the UK came with Carbon inserts - my brothers car has them - may have been different in other countries though. Should increase the scope for a donor though.

    Thanks,

I would send these guys a e-mail. Think they can sort out most OEM parts. It's not on their list, but I belive they would be able to give you a quote.

it's pretty easy to get you trim turned to carbon... you simply take it off, send it to a company, and they send it back to you wrapped in carbon... i've dealt with a guy from http://carboncopydesigns.com/ he is a good guy, i think its about $800 to get all of your trim wrapped

It's very easy to change the trim as it all clips in .

Thank you for the research. I suspect all pieces will work except for above the glove-box since this is from a right hand drive car. Am I correct?

    Best Regards,
