My day has just had a big serving of goodness thrown in on it.
It is fast. 8:09 for the ring (possibly). I think anyone should be impressed with that eh. Wonder what happens if you were to, i dont know, wind up the boost to say...15psi

Play nicely now! Those optional front brakes are massive. Good job, RS.

It's on the Edmunds Inside Line Homepage, in the "feature articles" window:

Another bit of news from this article - the sedan should be 132lbs lighter than the Avant.

8:09 around the Ring for the Avant. What are the times for the M5 and E63 AMG? If they are slightly better, the sedan may be able to match or beat them with the reduced weight.

I love the new RS6, but it weighs over 4500lbs! What could possibly require this?? Edmunds had it right - the RS6 really is not making any claims to being a sports-car. It is a brutally fast car, capable of hauling five people and their luggage, that is also capable of going around corners at high speed - just without much, let's say, dexterity.

You'll be glad to know that Stephan Reil, the RS6's development boss, says he saw 205 mph during final prototype testing on a secret section of autobahn late last year.

a prototype maybe but even the speedo says 320km/h so how come 205mph = 338km/h?

The RS6 will not be allowed to be their quickest model, that will be the privilege of the R8v10.

There no doubt that an non-restricted RS6 would be capable of over 200mph but as Qisha has already informed everyone such things would be inadvisable.
Search and you will find the truth.

As much as I love the RS-Line and the potential of the new RS6 I cant say I am a fan of the colour of the Avant in this test.

To me it looks too much like an S6 but I still want one!!!. I think this will be a mid to low 11's car over the 1/4 with a tune.
