how would be the 10cylinder version of the R8 named??? R8 is made by quatto gmbh right? so there wouldnt be S version of this car (because audi produces S models and R8 made by quattro gmbh) ?? the name RS8 would be stupid because RS8, everybody would think this is a S version of the carso i hope and think that it will be names R8/RS.

I think it will be called the R10, following the nomenclature of the LeMans winners...
dont think so, because R8 is a model range i think, a R4 would be there too, and a rumored R10 too, but the rumored R10 is a supersportscar than the R8.

do you think there will be Successor of the R8 in future? i think so, because the car is selling well i think and got very good feedback from carmagazins. also audi introduced R lineup. so its like a A model so there must be a successor. and it sells well.

then we move to the slightly longer names like the
R8S/though not a S-Line
or my favourite the
R10/though not to be mistaken with the LeMans racer.
The last one has a catchy ring to it and rolls off the tongue quite well.

It will be simply called a R8 V10 (the V10 badge (logo) on the opposite side of the rear) as is standard with Audi nomenclature. For example, an A6 is an A6, but you get it as 3.2 or 4.2 or an A8L is 4.2 or W12, etc. Audi will not ruin or dilute the R8 name by calling it something like an RS8 or R8S, etc. Plus an RS8 designation will get it confused with A8 nomenclature. I highly believe that the RS nomenclature is reserved for standard Audi model lines (sedans and their derivatives). The R-series is unique to the point that I would say in terms of prestige and performance it would go as R>/=RS>S with the R reserved for mid-engined Audis. How will you designate the Q7 V12 TDI? It is truely a performance-minded vehicle. As for a R10, I think that will be resevered for a future very high end mid-engine Aud R Series sports car.
