    Thats it!!!

After 2 suspension rebuilds,a warped front disc (not replaced yet) and loads of eaten tyres Im afraid my 6 has to go.
As excellent as it is I am going back to BMW and have ordered a new M3

I hope Audi have sorted all their probs for any future RS6,S as they are a fantastic piece of kit

    Adios

You just find it out? It is true...M3. is RWD
And Ratty, you gonna burn tyres on M3 and it is not so bad, as it is Sport car, if you wanna just drive it is better to have A6, 535 or Merc E-class

    Yes, it is.
The quoted power is 420 PS or 414 hp.
The WHP is about 92-93% of the quoted power - about 381 whp.

    BTW,
    0-100 - 4.8 sec
    0-200 - 15.7 sec!

    RS4 does 0-200 @16.6
    C63 AMG does 0-200 @ 14.7

The Ring time of M3 is 8:09 min with road tires and usual driver.
The Ring time of M3 with sport tires and factory drivers is about 10 to 15 seconds faster - less than 8:00 min.

New M3 CSL will appear in 2 years and will be much faster at the Ring.
    This is important information.

    No accounting for taste.

My M3 is so engaging, I can't imagine trading it for an Audi. There really is no comparison. My RS is simply a very comfortable daily driver. But when I think performance car or track time, I never consider taking out an Audi. Why should I go slower and have less feedback? The M3 is like an extension of my thoughts when driven at the limit; its that communicative.

With all due respect, however, if I could only have one car, and I wasn't allowed to modify it, it would almost certainly be an Audi.

Just out of curiosity RadJoe whats faster in a straight line in high speeds the RS6 or M3? I agree both Great Cars. I would choose an Audi everytime for an everyday driver and great performance car combination.

Yes RS6 is faster, but seriously everytime i go to the canyon to take out one of my biatches, i do prefer the m3 over my rs6 or my b7 s4. one simple reason, m3 is far more engaging experience than rs6 is. This is by the way how most audi vehicles feel, when compared to the bmw m lines in particular. It's not just about how FAST it feels, it's just the sheer pleasure of driving. Especially the smg II is VERY lovely (my fav part about the e46 m3 04-06), compared to the sluggish auto gearbox from rs6.

I know alot of people do talk smack about the smg being this and that, but most of them are actually not capable of grasping the concept that smg requires you to learn the damn thing and "properly" drive it!

    But yes, still

you mean the SMG III or the ZSG. auto gearbox is totally different than either one of the tranny. they do not use torque converter (especially like the pos one on the rs6, or the tranny for that matter )

if ytou want to understand the journey audi is on, drive an rs4. better than an m3, and sorry, if you want to disagree you can, but you'd be wrong.

why am i not driving one? 3 kids is why. also why the m3 doesn't work...

    A Mustang Cobra.
    I still wouldn't buy one.

Seriously, the M3 gives up over 100 HP to the Audi. My M3 is a dog in a straight line. Yet, it effortlessly laps faster than Z-06 Corvettes, GT3s and TT Porsches on the track.

I love my RS. I just don't think the two cars compare. I guess that was my original point.

I think Jeromy Clarkson said it best with his famous "dead horse nailed to the grill" statement.....

    http://bimmer.roadfly.com/bmw/forums...7254718-1.html

And by the way, he loved the RS4.

Again, as I stated below, the problem is the cars don't compare. They have different missions. I modify my track cars extensively. I can get incredible performance from an M3. After mods, the RS4 will still have the dead horse nailed to the grill. As far as a street car goes, I'm all over the Audis. That's why I have both.
    That is all.

mmmm, that quote was not how he rated the car, it was what he expected to find. he admitted his mistake and raved. as have all the other, more "regular" reviewers...

    have you ever driven one?

btw, i believe clarkson also said that if he had a 6-series, he would also have to drive it in reverse so that no-one could see it's butt...

you pays your money and takes your choice....
