Valve train noise at start up

I have been noticing a lot of valve train noise ( sounds like the lifters ) when I start up after the car has sat overnight or longer - this is relatively new - anyone else have this - is it normal ? - I am concerned that I am getting excessive engine wear - I just had the oil changed ( 35 k service with a new timing belt) so it is not old oil or timing belt issue - also I live on Southern California so the temperatures at start up are 55-65 degrees.

the hydraulic valve adjusters might be leaking...

they should hold pressure as they have relief valves to prevent pressure loss. get the dealer to check them...
