"The Audi diesel models will comply with the most stringent US emissions standards when they are launched in 2008"
Hmm... launched in 2008, as 09' models no doubt... still two years away! Man, better late than never I guess...

For me it was allways a metter of time...
I mean, come on, Diesel is great solution, Europe is practicly becoming TDI continent.
Confusing reports. Some state next year, some state 2008. Hopefully it is launched in calendar year 2007 as a 2008 model year. The EPA better gets its act togather and approve the Bluetec technology. The V6 and more powerful TDIs won't come if they are not 50 state legal and they can't be 50 state legal without the complete use of Bluetec. However, VW should get the 2.0 TDI in the Jetta sooner as it doesn't need the unapproved Bluetec injection.
I was fortunate to drive the 3.0 TDI Q7 at a special Audi viewing in Los Angeles last year already. Alot of low-end torque and extremely refined. I had the same engine in the A6 in Europe will vacationing. Expect the 3.0 TDI Q7 by 2008 as annoucned at the LA Auto Show.
