I don't like the looks of the new BMWs and this one is no different. That said, a wagon is much more practical and a great idea for BMW to finally offer one. Kudos to them.

The perfect performance BMW for the winter. It allows you to put lots of extra weight over the rear axle to get some grip.

    Joking a side, why?

If you wanted to carry extra loads why would one pick it over a X5 4.8.

It took them some time indeed. Very nice...a family car with 507hp and rear wheel drive....just a Hi-Per Audi wannabe if you ask me.
    Hi-Per family cars(station wagons) are Audi...period:cool2: .

    Peace,

SUVs suck to drive in comparison.

I envy one thing - the trailer hitch. Would love to have it on my RS4 so I could hook up my bike for the weekend excursions.

I know that the two can't be compared on a handling/performance level, my statement was why buy an estate M5 or any M model for that matter. I don't see the logic in a hi-peformance rwd estate car. It doesn't suit the job as well as X5 on a practical level or the RS6 Avant which can turn it's hand to anything.

    Gustav,

You tell me and the rest of us what the point of this car is, because I am at a lost. The M3/M Roadster & Coupe/M5 and M6 I get, just not the estate versions.

    Help me understand.
