wow, SMG does make a convincing difference, but performance isn't just about speed, the stick is a more aprropriate choice for this car

Somebody know the nonlimited topspeed with the manual gearbox? I read just over 300 km/h somewhere and wonder if that maybe could be it? Info please!

Accoording to these numbers, the topspeed should be the same for SMG/6spd
There is some fierce rivalry between SMG and 6-speed owners on the M5board. Most buyers have their own reasons for buying either of course, but their words are the best source.

Autocar tested a RS4 and it got to 150mph in 25.3secs, only two behind the manual M5. The other split times are about the same, including the 1/4mile time.
It's understandable that the M5 will start to pulls away from around the 135mph because still it shows how quick the wee RS4 is.
