Top Gear's Richard Hammond seriously injured.

Richard Hammond is critical ill in Leeds Hospital after a crash in a jet powered car. The latest news is it's a head injury and he was unconscious when the meds arrived at the accident. The other Top Gear team are at his bed-side.

Latest on Richard's condition is he's stable but suffered trauma to the brain but the doctors are hopefully he will make a good recovery. Fingers crossed.

By the way, he had already broken the UK landspeed record on his previous run and they decided to do another hi-speed run for more camera footage. I actual run when to plan and he deployed the parachute at the correct time when shortly afterwards a rear tyre blew. The accident happened at 280mph.

In the local newspapers. Jeremy Clarkson was said to have said to Richard in the hospital that he was a crap driver, he was seen to smile that this. He is had to be out of intensive care and is now in a high dependendency ward.

The latest on Richard's condition is he is now up walking and talking and says the wife and co-presenters to be more like the Richard they all know and love.

The wife is said to be overwhelmed by the support from all over the world. And in the UK, at the Hospital there has been rally cars, race cars and supercars with their owners have been doing laps of the Hospital car park.
