I realise you can't do a blind test for driving different cars, but one of us on this forum will have to be very good at driving to notice 1.6 inches difference. The BMW and the Audi are great cars...
You lost me... is this printer related?
I agree, 4WD really helps out, although it's a bit scary on normal tyres coming downhill when you remember that a 4WD doesn't brake any quicker... especially with a nice heavy car:dance:
In the UK rear offside fog is mandatory only, not two rear fogs... I got pulled by the police a month or so ago for having front fogs on with headlamps as well while driving down an A road......
Benman, Good points, we agree I think.
Tailpipe, not really sure about the less capable in tricky conditions and loses value quicker...? Which tricky conditions have you found the Subaru lacking...
Benman, I think it's really sweet that you love your Audi so much that you can overlook its many foibles... can't knock a believer
I just saw this post... if the E55 isn't designed to go around corners then our big Audi's aren't really that different are they? Weight transfer around the ring is most illustrated in the small...
On a backroad in the UK the RS6 is not a great car. Probably helped it to last place in the recent Evo shoot-out... albeit of the top cars of the year. Really have to remember what these cars are...
In a straight line I would guess RS6 and STi would be reasonably close and then RS6 would pull away. Rember STi for the USA is I think usually 265bhp. Jap version is now around 300bhp Spec C is a...
Benman
The Spec C is a factory built car... it is built by Subaru Technica which are the equivalent of the RS family in Audi, the M class for BMW... etc. And given it is Standard when it leaves...
Benman
I know for a fact that Impreza's lap the ring sub 8minutes as I have seen them... they are called a Subaru Impreza STi Spec C or somesuch elongated name. The link to at least one sub 8min...
Mr Zeke
Glad to see you took him in a straight line... however, throw in a couple of bends and you would quite literally be left for dead. A few years ago I had a 220bhp Subaru Impreza which would...
Remember 4WD doesn't mean any different than 2WD when it comes to braking... I put a Subaru in an Alpine ditch many years ago while whizzing down a slope and attempting a gentle turn. The guy in...
Hi Guys
I actually replaced my mirrors with body coloured ones. Any decent coachworks should be able to fit them reasonably easily. I think mine were around £500 eventually colour coded to the car...
Tailpipe, a sub 8 minute RING time indicates little about the top speed. Look at Caterham, Radical, Westfield etc, plus even a humble 330bhp Subaru can put out a sub 8 minute lap...
As for a...
Just a note for caution really, I had my wing mirrors literally ripped off my car a few weeks ago. When I asked Audi for a quote to replace (insurance of course) they came back with nearly £1000... ...
Tailpipe, 190mph seems a tad optimistic from this setup. Whenever magazines take true exotica to oval tracks (which admittedly scrub a bit of speed) there aren't many that top even 180mph... they all...
Quattro, I think we agree. There is no doubting the RS6 is quick, relatively easy to drive etc, but its weight will tell at the Ring. Interestingly a Spec C will lap the ring in absolute standard...
Heresy I realise, but I can't help thinking that the P will feel better than the Audi around the RING. The RS6 is a great car, but it is very heavy and is more an autobahn cruiser (very high speed)...
Hi there
I'm new to the board but hope someone may be able to help. I have an 02 S6 Avant with Tiptronic, and recently when I lift off the accelerator at relatively low speeds in town 30-50mph the...
See this car for the real winner...
