That was exactly the issue. I disconnected that valve, replaced the 20 amp fuse and she sparked right up!
Now just have to order a new valve before driving the car.

That does make total sense......the last couple of days I have seen small coolant puddles being left under that exact same location. Then this 'shut down' happens. Guessing...
Update, found fuse #32 (ecu fuse). Replaced it and it tried to start then blew again. What could be shorting fuse #32? Visual inspection doesn't uncover any grounded wires.
2003 Audi RS6 is the car.
Mileage is about 120K.
Timing belt service done summer of 2016.
Have owned this car going on maybe 7 years and it has never let me down nor left me...
