If it's been a while since your pads were changed, especially if you're in a corrosion-prone area, you may find that it's impossible to remove the pins. In that case you can remove the calipers and...
Thanks for the tip on T-ing into the fuel line before it goes from hose clamps and nipples to the unknown fittings -- that is a good idea, especially since to get to the fuel rail connection you need...
Well, I made a jumper to bypass the module and I can now hear the pumps running, but the car still doesn't start. It's possible I just didn't hear the pumps when the seats were up.
Anyone have...
Boy they didn't make this easy... thanks.
So it's under the package shelf trim then. Now to figure out how that comes apart...
Hi all,
I have a no-start condition on my RS6. I've narrowed it down to a lack of fuel. I don't hear the fuel pumps at all when I turn the key on. Before leaping into a fuel pump replacement...
That's frustrating, John. To answer your email of a while back (sorry) - my conversion is still in a holding pattern waiting on more free time on my part.
I assume your car won't pass inspection...
It was $550 when I bought it over the summer. Check with Justin on current pricing. It's a side project of his and I'm not sure what his stock looks like.
I was a bit worried about that with two fat bikes on the rack, but fortunately the rack curves upward and doesn't put the tires right behind the exhaust tips. Still worth paying attention to though.
I work downtown but don't usually drive in. Funny that a bicycle is faster than even an RS6 :)
It's a super clean install. No holes to drill, no plastic to trim. With the vertical receiver it's effectively invisible when the 90 degree adapter is removed.

I highly recommend the 2" allroad hitch from Justin Scheifflee (allroadhitch@gmail.com)
It mounts to the RS6 without a hitch (so to speak) - like it was made to do this from the factory. I...
It's all relative, I guess. I've got a gray one in Arlington and in the 3 years I've had it I've yet to encounter another one...
Do they continue to run after turning the car off? If so check out http://www.rs6.com/showthread.php/23644-After-run-fan-seems-possessed?highlight=
There are some cooling system codes that don't...
Any Audi dealer can pull the records on the car. Whether they actually will is another story.
You really want to know the history on these cars. I'd go so far as to say it's a dealbreaker if the...
I got the Blau kit, which had OEM parts for everything that mattered except the water pump. I had to throw the crappy water pump away and buy one from an Audi dealer. Given that experience I would...
Ok, good feedback, thanks. I have a 6 speed conversion in the works (which, admittedly, has been the case for going on 2 years) so I have to decide whether to replace the axles even though they'll...
I have the recalled DRC setup on my car. Has anyone else experienced DRC related vibration at speed?
The axle idea is interesting, I can imagine that causing a high speed vibration -- but not the...
I replaced the sway bar dogbones too, but not the mounts to the subframe. I guess that's worth a shot.
I have not attempted to get to the lower steering rack bolt but the top two are tight.

I've been trying to get to the bottom of this problem for over two years now. The vibration is moderate at highway speeds and I can feel it in the steering wheel. The clunking is noticeable at...
Dropping the sway bar is easy, until it's not.
Then you get to spend some quality time at the lathe making a new stud to replace the one that broke...
I tried to fish the filter out through the...
Unfortunately I think you are going to be disappointed here. The TCU is a computer and it's operated by software. You aren't going to be able to "rewire" a newer TCU to talk to an older ECU. ...
Are you thinking that you will use the 5 speed TCU to activate the valve body of the 6 speed transmission? Or are you hoping that the Motronic ECU will be happy to talk to a newer 6 speed TCU as if...
That's right, my oil samples were both the factory spec oil.
Hardwin, thanks for posting the link. It is an interesting comparison. Your sample had significantly less iron in it than mine, but...
The thing that puzzles me about the elevated iron is that these engines have relatively little steel in them as far as I know. Besides camshafts and the crankshaft what is there? What are the...
