Regarding turbos...I realize there aren't many RS6 at the ~100K+ miles mark, but to-date very few failures have been reported on any of the forums. I remember hearing about one - ?

Here's a vote for O.CT engine and tranny chip. Have had it for 1.5 years - big power, better shifting, no problems at all.
Actually, the difference is about 30% (~$730 vs ~$1000). For me, the cryo treatment is worth it but this is a highly non-scientific opinion!
I've had rotors from frozenrotors.com since last fall, and used them at the Daytona driving event in December (8 ~25 minute sessions). I also had hi-temp brake fluid, but no other brake mods. Zero...
if you're not strictly looking for lowest price, you can get cryo-treated OEM rotors for about the same price as dealer rates at frozenrotors.com.

Regarding brakes, at least you can save a lot on *pads* by going aftermarket. EBC redstuff works great for street, and I had good luck w/yellowstuff at Daytona last month.
Just fyi, you can...
Congrats on the car! www.htms.org has all the info you need.
Hi Jack - Brad from Tampa here. My only other track event was in 2002, with my B5 S4, at Portland (OR) International Raceway. PIR is a flat track (not banked), with a lot more twisties than the...
O.CT provides both TCU and ECU. FWIW, I paid US$2000 earlier this year.
Had a GREAT time at the Daytona event this past weekend. There were 3 other RS6's among an incredible collection of cars - from APR's GTI racecars, to a Carrera GT, countless 911 variants including...
My car is a sedan (FYI, no Avants were sold officially in North America have heard rumors of a couple being in the US).
A while back, there was a thread speculating about the true weight of the RS6 (I mentioned that Edmunds.com states RS6 weight as 4050).
Today I had a chance to weigh the beast at a scale at...
MrBucket, my B5 S4 6-speed stick had this issue, and quite a few other B5 S4 owners (mostly 6-speed) on audiworld's forum reported the same (back in ~2002ish).
With my B5 S4, I used a well-known mod (from audiworld's forum) to add a rubber cap to the throttle stop to reduce the effect of this issue.
I looked at the throttle stop on the RS6 accelerator...
In a separate thread, Copper pointed out that getting a good 1/4 mile time requires not flooring the throttle until the car is well under way; otherwise (for whatever reason?) the launch is sluggish....
Nene, I assume you know about Bilstein PSS9s? Available for about $1600, plus install.
Hy Octane, if you try that with your RS6 be sure to get some dyno results ;)
Manuel, keep us posted on all the details! Very interested in your results.
rs-mad: what launch technique do you use? I've tried brake-torquing to 2000rpm a few times, but even with that method the spool-up/launch is mediocre at best. aside from the slow-ish launch, my...
Regarding weight: Duckwingduck listed weights with a ~400lb/200kg difference, but Edmunds.com lists the RS6 as 4024lbs, and the RS4 sedan as 3903 lbs.
I know that curb weights aren't always...
You must have meant to say '100lbs lighter'! About 150lbs difference, IIRC.
Copper, just so you know, the install is very straightforward as a do-it-yourself job. Even at a slow pace, like mine :), it's a couple of hours at the most. The only minor tricks involved are...
Sticky worthy, indeed! Good suggestion, IMO.
For what it's worth: The improvement in transmission shift quality alone is big enough that even if I could switch to stock via an interface I never would. I have O.CT, cost $2000 for ECU and TCU.
