Was anybody in for it ... or has anybody spotted them on their way from london to rome???

I've read and heard a few things about it on tv and on a few homepages - but it seems that this event hasn't really attracted a lot of attention.

one of the racers could get caught while doing at about 217 km/h on the A12 in Tyrol. There were at least 100 cars that seemed to belong to the group of "cannonball 8000" - racers, but most of them drove regulately.

but ... although there were these few news items i could find in austria ... nobody really knew much of this race -> when compared to the gumball -> well ... there was much more pr about it.

well ... in my opinion there are too much of such events going on every year.

Yes.

Spotted them on Saturday on Nürburgring.

2 S4s and an RS6 in there. Gallardo and other strange cars. :D

I don't know, but it feels a bit old fashioned and out of style to dress in strange clothes, paint the hair etc. and find some stupid route to drive.

I saw some of the cars in Rome. They were parked in front of a hotel near the termini.
Unfortunately the battery of my digicam went out. I was only able to make one shot... I took the red RS6+.
Next morning (Tuesday, 20.09) most cars were gone.... spottet only one Aston Martin Vanquish, one Dodge Ram-SRT10 and two minor porsche.
