The long awaited weekend at the Poconos Speedway in Pennsylvania became a reality. Little did I know that Mr. Balboni(prefers to be called "VALENTINO") was going to be in attendance for the the great event. I was able to chat with the legend over the weekend for a cumulitative time of 2hrs..(SUREAL). I was able to also aquire an autograph on the doorsill of my GALLARDO. During track time which were on sunday and monday (27-28 June) Valentino was giving rides on the course to anyone who would dare to get in the silver Murcielago with him...(NOTHING LIKE GOING ON A 2.5 MILE COURSE WHICH HAS ABOUT 6 TURNS AND 2 MAJOR STRAIGHTS WITH THE LEGEND) straights were mastered at around 197mph average and the turns were just hit to hard to have even got a glance at the speedometer. The experience did not end there, in one of the many sessions during the 2 track days I found myself in front of the HARD charging Murcielago driven by Valetino, ohh my god, what a freakin feeling, the man is totally insane. On the infield I held my own only because the size difference but on the straights it was all over...Finally on that particular run he finally passed me after the first straight but guess what in turn 4 he spun out and being that I was only a turn and a half behind him, I got to see what very few people have seen in their lives,, he confirmed the fact and asked me with a smile on his face not to tell anyone..lol so I promised after he again provided me with a second autograph, this time on my helmet. There were other (2 other test drivers from Lamborghini the which were doing the same, giving people rides, one from Boston the other from Italy. By the way I haven't mentoined how amazingly NICE Valetino was to everyone there, No less than 200 people and he treated every single one of the the same. (WOW)
I was trying to post pictures from the event but I havent had luck doing it. Could someone help me, stuart i tried sending you the email but no luck.
By the way, the Gallardo performance stood out. I have 6 hrs of track time that I would love to post or some at least, you know the times where the 360 modena, 355 spider just fell short in every facet of the track, when the gallardo holds it own vs.. murcielago, diablo and puts a hurtin on the 550maranello all of this while Im the captain...lol what a rush an experienced, the experience has led me to join a car club in Florida(SAFE Motorsports) which has 6 to 7 events yrly and the next one is the 24th of july at Sebring Intl Speedway. Im buying rims , tires brake pads for both the beast and Gallardo(just for the events), and will be attending these events.:incar: :incar: :incar:(Sebring Intl, Moroso Speedway, Homestead-Miami Intl)
Forgot to mentioned that it was an all EXOTIC Italian car event,,LAMbos, ferraris, maserrati, alpha romeo, panteras, ect...
A smiling Ricky :incar: :incar:
