Any opinions/info on design and technical direction that next generation of Audis SUV will take...?
Also, when it could be presented, Geneve, summer, Frankfurt...?

unfortunately i think it is a long ways off. someone forgot to pull out the Q7 file and get to work on it. then someone said "oh s**t! hans! we forgot about the Q7!"

probably over 2 years away. havent even seen a test mule.

Perhaps not that far away but Audi is taking longer than its competitors. The MB GL came out a month before the Q7 in the US and has already been redesigned. The second gen X5 came out about half a year later than the Q7 but will likely reach market earlier.

I think the reason is that the Q7 will leapfog a generation and switch platforms.

Gen 1: Audi VW Porsche SUV Platform: First gen Touareg, Cayenne and Q7 after a couple of years

Gen 2: VW/ Porsche SUV platform: Current Touareg and Cayenne

Gen 3: MLB Evo platform: Second gen Q7, third generation Cayenne and Touareg, potentially first gen Bentley and Lamborghini SUVs

Should be much boxier looking as indicated by the latest concept.

This seems like interesting article, Q6, Q8, Q9 and A9 are mentioned, but some clarification from one of the german speaking members would be great!

Is that a Q6 rendering? Too short to be a Q7, and the styling is far too busy imo.

I'm wondering will next Q7 be same size or smaller than current Mk1, so they can slot it in the class with X5, ML, Cayenne, RR Sport and leave space for some future Q9 or Q8 to be full grown SUV in class with cars like Range Rover, GL orLand Cruiser V8...

For the record, current Q7 is 5.09m long witch is longer then outgoing Range Rover (4.97m) and much longer then RR Sport (4.78m), X5, ML and Cayenne are even smaller.

I think it will stay a GL competitor.

Here is the most realistic render that I've seen to date of the next Q7.

Makes the Q7 look less minivan than the current one.

Agree...

Alltough, having Q7 for some year know, given me completly oposite opinion of it compare to time wehn I just saw it others driving around...

Actuallyt, I was considering to change it know, and IK just can't find the car that can do the business in the same way, maybe I will go for another current Q7 and wait for the next gen'...

Big fan of the current one and hopefully their new design direction will keep it looking sharp.
