I was googling and began to ask myself who 'made' the Nurburgring (drawed it and 'made it like it is now') and howmuch acres it is. I know that it's 20.8 km long but the rest I really can't find anywhere. Maybe some of you guys know all this?

My question is the same for the Ascari-circuit!

... I think it's me...

I agree, it is you :) . Erik provided the wiki link for it and yet it doesn't indicate WHO built it but most of your question(s) are there...

So it's not me: I want to know who built and drawed it...

Construction of the track, designed by the Eichler Architekturbüro from Ravensburg (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ravensburg) (led by Architect Gustav Eichler), began in September 1925.
At least now the Wikipedia had this info of Nordschleife designer.

I can't understand the question of acres. What are you referring to? Track surfaced area, or area inside the track? Both are a bit strange questions, unless you plan to order resurfacing :)

Wiki also says width is 8-9 metres on avarage. Multiply that with length, and you get an estimate of the surface area.

Thanks for that Jani! I mean: howmuch space do you need to built a track like that. Let's say for the Nordschliefe. I don't think your multiplytrick will work because the track doesn't run in a straight line or square...

Total area as a square is about 4.8 km x 6.0 km, a bit of forest in between the track. Just buy a similar space near Adenau or other suitable mountain, employ a couple of thousand guys for a few years, and you are there :) As I mentioned, you get a near enough estimate with the 20800 m x 8.5 m -the track turns sometimes right, sometimes left, and up and down. The error won't screw your budget.

You can't build another track like Nordschleife...so just enjoy the original.

Sad enough I'm not building or buying my own track. I'm just very interested in tracks.
