To Leadie and others...

Wanted to get your thoughts of Giants and Dolphins playing in Britain this last Sunday? Is there even any interest over the pond for our "football"?

And that was one wet, muddy field... or should I say "pitch". ;)

Yes, starring the Back Street Boys. ;)

So? New York Giants vs Miami Dolphins... any thoughts from our Brittons here?

Not a Brit' here, but I can tell you that american football is ''on the rise'' here, and in hole region.

There is even a regional profesional league and team from Belgrade has won it last weekend... :jlol:

A bit off topic but still related to NFL

Does anybody know of a way to watch NFL online? Love them Patriots - but having a hard time following the NLF scene here in DK.

Thanks

Hmm.. that is a good question... perhaps highlights at youtube...

Here is God Save the Queen being sung at the London game (a first time): http://youtube.com/watch?v=hjGL_FkxGHs

PS the BIGGIE is coming up. Undefeated Patriots vs the Undefeated Colts. First time in NFL history that two teams that are 7-0+ will ever face-off. Should be a spectacular game as Payton Manning and Tom Brady both are fantastic and both command first rate offenses! This comming Sunday! I'm sure highlights will be on youtube, just not sure where to see the full game?

Thank God I can watch that game! Had Pats over Cowboys (81 vs 81 :) ) and now I have Pats over Colts with the bookies. I have put down a pretty penny on Pats as SB winners! No Doubt!

Gotta love that Tom Brady - we are unstoppable  :thumb: :wo:

The funny thing about Brady is he is unstoppable both on, and off the field. Two different top models impregnated by him within the same year! Seems no defense can stop him!:applause: :jlol: I also think he is a pretty cool bloke as he is very down to Earth for being so successfull at such a young age. Recently, when enterviewed by GQ, they asked him what his personal life is like, he said, "Well, I do all the same stuff that any 24 year old single male would do..."

The reporter then asked the loaded question, "Does that include watching porn on the internet"?

Brady's reply, "Like I said, I do all the stuff that every single 24 year old male does". :applause:

Thought i'd show up for the whole Brit scene...
Well there is definately an NFL loving community here, Sky sports show 3 live games on a sunday and channel five show live monday night football.
I think NFL is great and would have gone to the game at Wembley if tickets were going for below £300 ($600)...
The problem with that game is people came from all over to see it so i estimate that only 40% of the crowd were actually British.
This is definately the way to raise the stature of the game. It did recieve a lot of media coverage, but some of americas less popular sports actually appeal more to the masses here. For example MLB and NBA probably have greater followings.
What NFL needs to do to grow is for it to be play at schools, but not many schools will as we have rugby for that.
Hopefully though we can hope to see many more games in different countries, and i hope they come back next year to the UK.

PS sorry about Wembley's field its normally used about once a month for "soccer" so isnt really in great shape. Especially not to take an NFL game!

Thanks for replying Dave. Normally Leadie is all over this sort of stuff (American junk coming over to Britain :D) but this time no comment?

Really, NBA and MLB have bigger followings out there? Interesting...

As for Wembley, it was actually closer to what "real" football is all about. Playing in cold, rainy, muddy environment. No foo foo stuff. :thumb: For me, astroturf is a total crime and has robbed the NFL of much of it's former glory. The day Soldier Field goes artificial turf is the day I am no longer a Bears fan.
