Hi all
long time no see...
there is a reason why I put this topic here.
You see I was offline cause my old PC burned, well the provider burned and
burned the mother boared and the CPU with it, so now I'm talking to you through
a pc 4 times more powerful than my last one.
It's brand new!!!!!

Core 2 quad (not core 2 duo , means I have 4 cores)
instead of 1 I had in my old pc
when needed each core can give 2.4 GHZ, very very fast indeed.

I have 2 GB ram 800 MHZ DDR2 vs 512 DDR 400 MHZ

250 GB hard disc vs the 80 GB I had

And to the part I'm not sure about: the video card
8600GT 512, it's much better than the FX5200 128 MB I had but I'm not sure abou it was the best card I could afford.
cards such as 8800 GTS cost here over 500 USD, more than half of what the
pc costs, and I'm not insane...
Did I do any misstake with the video card?
Could I have bought a better card?

but still I got all of this and a 19 inch LCD screen HD ready (wide!!)
just under 900 USD !!!!

I haven't tested it's limits yet but I'm quite sure it's a work horse!!!!

Welcome back. Its a nightmare not having a PC.

Your new system sounds good. Should keep you sorted for the next few years.
Your system is like comparing night and day compared to your old one.

Give them cores a workout. Try running a game, cutting a CD or DVD, running a virus scan and going online all at the same time. Should be a breeze for your new system. Pity 99% of games dont make use of more than one core at the moment.

You could have bought a faster graphics card, but the important question to ask is, do you need to?
You were running with a fx5200 before. (thats was a pretty shitty card even 2yrs ago:harass: ). The capability of your new card is many times that of the FX5200.
As long as your not going to play Oblivion at max settings, your card is more than suitable.

yeah it is, I was 3 weeks without one,
cause at the first week, the old one was still twitching, untill I got tired,
we thought of bringing a technician so we searched for a week , and decided that
it's just best to buy a new one so,
1 weeks later we were at the shop, and after just 3 business days the new one arrived.

And now I tried to push it to the limint,
I was scanning for a virus while extracting a big file while watching a video ,
And it preformed beautifully!!!

Actually I have oblivion and I am running it on max settings and it runs very very smooth, not even one lag ,even when things got tough and there were many people and enemies doing magics ETC...
and it was still very smooth.
I really do think I bought a good one this time, but what faster cards are there?
cause this one turns out to be quite good!!!
