Yesterday I was participating to 1 mile top speed competition for streetcars and there was tuned RS6, which achieved from standing start 298 kmh (appr 185 mph) over one mile course. I find it very impressive, never seen such result with RS6 in other top speed competitions anywhere in the world. Standard car achieves around 250 kmh.

I have no exact spec of that car, but if I remember correctly it has 650 hp. + 125 shot of nitrous, specially prepared tranny, stripped interior, lightweight seats.

Now when I asked from other people, it seems that this RS6 had alltogether just 700 hp. incl. nitrous.

Here is the full list of the results:

Check out 3'rd place in class B - VW New Beetle 262 kmh. In order to get the idea, it as fast as SL55AMG and faster than chipped 500+ hp. RS6. :D

I have looked through it...
Impressive...
It's strange to me that no BMW M5 participated in the test. As well as E63 or Gallardo. It could be bery interesting to see their figuires.

We have organised such top speed competitions since 2001. Previously, E60 M5 has achieved 267 kmh and M6 269 kmh. E63 or Gallardo have never participated.

I take it that both M models had their speed limiters still intacted because it's at this exact speed where an M5/6 hits it's limiter.

stock rs6 will do around 250, so there cant be much even if they were limited. M6 was coming straight from 2006 Gumball and i think it was delimited and chipped, but not 100% sure.

It was just a thought as this is right on the speed that a limiter kicks in on an M5, but like you said this is still 18km/h more than a stock RS6 would get over the same distance.

I have participated there once in 2005 - very nice and smooth track compared to ours. Friendly organisers too, just pitty that it's so long distance to drive there...

If you are interested, i had in 1 mile race litle over 600hp+nitrous 125hp. In first run i didnt have enough gasoline and in second run i could use NOS only few seconds fourth and fifth gear, cos torgue goes well over 1000 NM gearbox wont hold. We have made many mods for the car, but the huge torgue is the thing that makes the car so fast. For the next season we have many new things to come that makes the car much faster, but i want to always keep the car look cool, not like race car that can be only use in race track and move by the trailer.

Hi Juhani ! You probably have the fastest RS6 among the members of this site.

BTW. anybody have read this month EVO, where they went 200+ mph in Opel Omega and close to 400 kmh in Trans-Am...on the wet surface. Some crazy Norwegians:

Hi Peep! I have to also thank you of making such a good work organicing these good events in Estonia. I really like racing there and i have a warm feeling how organicers, spectators and other streetrace drivers have taken me in, even im foreigner. I´m looking forward to see many good races next summer. Cant wait to test all new tricks we have for next season. I`m pretty shure that Maxim, Viljar and Co. have to be really fast to beat us. See you next summer! Jussi
