I am thinking about taking a trip to Ingolstadt.
The easy way to travel for me is by plane from Norway.

But when I was there I would really like to rent a nice audi.

Anyone know where to do this ? And for what price ?

I have been tempted by that RS4 weekend package for a while now

Also, if you want english tours to the actual plant, i think it was only on wednesdays (i can remember that wrong) Plant tours are not available on weekends! :0:

Well my German-skills are just about limited to the knowledge of how to order a dönerkebab :alig:

But München, Stuttgart and Nürnberg are the closest big cities close to Ingolstadt. And you can pick up the car from anyone of those three and drop it off to any three also :) Nice stretches of autobahn between them :incar: :race:

Stuttgart also has the Mercedes-Benz museum (worth a visit), from München you can drive quickly to Garmisch-Partenkirchen for some Alpine roads, the hillclimb from Grainau to Eibsee was tasty, steep hills and tight curves :thumb: Plus you can go to the top of Zugspitze mountain (highest mountain in germany: 2962m)

Few pics from my trip:

The Audi museum is currently under construction, they are building a Le Mans "memorial" thing in one of the floors there.

Thank you very much man.. this was very god information.

It would be most natural to pick it up at Nurnburg :lovl:

Is it leagel to take it out on the ring?

Do you know if its a limo or Avant?
I prefer the Avant.

Nürnberg is nowhere near Nürburg (and the ring) :cool2:

I dont know about rental cars in ring-usage, but I would think
that normal companies dont like it :D Atleast without some extra
insurance fee.

I rented a 997 Carrera S with chrono package from Avis FunCar. I did it via the web and then followed up on the phone with Avis Germany, excellent English spoken. This was from Toronto.

I drove the car on the 'Ring, there were no 'Ring exclusions when I rented last year only race track exclusion. The car was brand new with 24km.

When I rented: the website indicated that two credit cards were required, one of them or both them being gold or one gold and one amex, can't quite remember. Anyway when I got there I just handed them one card and they never asked for another.

The FunCars section is not obvious...go to www.avis.de click the 'Reservierung' word at the top left hand corner then look down the left hand side for 'FunCar Reservierung'.

Good Luck.
