I'd like to ask a technical question: Now I have a 2004 Audi A4 1.6 /company car/ and I started to thinking about how can I resell it and buy stg. like this but I like the car so much and buying a new A4 would be too expensive for me now. Do you think it is possible to change it's engine to for example a 1.8T or 2.4 V6? Maybe a 1.8 T would be difficult because of the turbo, but maybe a 2.4 is possible...I know it requires to change also the gearbox, the cooling, the exhaust system, but if it costs less than 10000$ os a bit more, it's worse for me because that would last at least another five years. /now, after 3 years the 1.6 has 120000km/

Dont even consider it

Buy a good used 1.8T or 2.4 A4
Beleive me it will be cheaper this way.

Changing the type of engine in your current A4 is more difficult than you would think.

Your going to need a donor car to start with.
something like an A4 that has had a rear end shunt (written off) of about the same year.

You'll need from that;
Engine (complete w/cooling & ancillaries)
G/Box
Engine ECU (G/Box ECU it its Auto)
Engine wiring Harness
Main Electrics Harness (Dashboard / fuse Box)
Dash Insert (Clocks)
Subframe / Engine & Gearbox mounts
Fuel pump (possibly some other fuel system parts also -pipes /tank/acc unit)
Exhaust complete
Driveshafts*
Front Brakes (you want it to stop, dont you?)
Front Bearing Knuckles (for brakes)
Front Struts complete *

* = you could probably adapt these from your current A4 -but why bother if you have the proper items - you want it to be right.

There is probably more that I cannot think of right now.

DONT BOTHER :nono:
There is a horrendous amount of time and cost doing this.

Sell the 1.6, buy a used 1.8T or 2.4
